Prof Dr Irina Lehmann

She is a Professor for Epigenetics and Lung Research at the Berlin Institute of Health at Charité – University Medicine Berlin. Prof Lehmann’s expertise is mostly in pediatric epidemiology and allergy. Her research focuses on early disease programming by lifestyle and environmental factors especially epigenetic modifications that can possibly bridge between early-life exposure and later disease risks. Thereby, she is particularly interested in the highly sensitive prenatal phase. Prof Lehmann is also targeting the identification of risk factors predisposing for the development of asthma and allergies, obesity, or behavioral abnormalities within cohort studies.
