Prof Dr med Jon Genuneit, MSc
Prof Genuneit is a trained medical doctor and epidemiologist. He is currently working as the head department of pediatric epidemiology at the University of Leipzig, Germany. His research mainly focuses on child health, including environmental and genetic determinants as well as phenotyping of e.g. asthma and allergies, overweight, and behavioral traits. He has a special interest in breast milk composition and breastfeeding, chronobiology and circadian rhythm, family psychosocial health, and sleep rhythms and problem in children. Prof Genuneit believes that preserving healthy lives from conception onwards is the strongest measure to increase population health. Prof Genuneit’s research has led to more than 281 publications.
